NEW TIME FOR SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES |

The Chepachet Free Will Baptist Church recently voted to change the starting time of their Sunday morning services. After meeting for
years at 11:00 a.m., the church members voted on a new starting time of 10:00 a.m. beginning on Sunday, August 5, 2007. |

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
A weekly Bible Study will be held at the church every Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Paul
Anderton will be leading and finishing the study on "Women in the Bible" during July, and Pastor Emeritus, Jeffrey Brooke-Stewart, leading the studies, starting with Ephesians

There will be a special Music at the Meeting House event at which Pastor Emeritus Jeff
Brooke-Stewart will tell the story of Alexander Hatch Morrell, Pastor of this church 1881-86, and a champion of freedom for all people, whose recently-discovered diary gives
a fascinating snapshot of Chepachet life, culture, and people in the 1880's. There will be a hymn-sing accompanying the talk.
OLD HOME DAY 101ST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Saturday, August 18, 2007 Chepachet Free Will Baptist Church Luncheon served from 11:30AM until 3:00PM:
Rhode Island Quahog Chowder or New England Clam Chowder, Clamcakes, Brownbread, a Special Homemade Blueberry Dessert (almost as good as strawberry shortcake — because
nothing is as good as strawberry shortcake), lemonade, and old fashioned haymakers' switchel. Luncheon music by Ray Manning, also known as Johnny B. Good.
$10 for Adults $5 for children under 12
$1 apiece for Hot Dogs
A service of Remembrance and Praise at 1:00 in the Church
Plus: Old fashioned games (with prizes) for children of all ages. Frisbee contests
A wet balloon toss at Pastor Steve Crosby and Pastor Emeritus Jeff Brooke-Stewart at 2:15. A "Guess Cake" — guess its weight and win it.

Music at the Meeting House: The Brass Odyssey Sunday, May 6, 2007 2:30 PM Winners of the 2007 UCONN Brass Quintet Competition, The Brass Odyssey was formed in
early 2006 by Sammy Costa, Evan Gravell, Josh Kane, Jenna Ramos and Jay Stelle, all music students at Rhode Island College. Within a semester of coaching, under the watchful
eye of Professor Joseph Foley, a founding member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet, The Brass Odyssey has become one of the most recognized groups on the Rhode Island College
Campus. They have participated in masterclasses with Eric Ruske, Bala Brass and others. Members have performed with such groups as The American Band, The Rhode Island
Symphonic Band, The Rhode Island Philharmonic, all the major ensembles at Rhode Island College and have been featured soloists with the RIC Brass Ensemble. They have shared
the stage with Alan Baer (Principal Tuba, NY Phil.) as well as many Rhode Island College Faculty members. The Brass Odyssey is also one the touring groups at RIC and has
performed at high schools in near by Connecticut and Massachusetts, as well as malls and nursing homes throughout Rhode Island.
Music at the Meeting House: The Coventry Senior Center Harmonica Band Sunday, April 29, 2007 2:30 PM This ensemble consists of harmonicas, a concertina, drum, keyboard, and guitars. These
very lively performers have an average age of 71. "Uncle Roger" Vanasse is their manager and master of ceremonies. Please come and encourage these mature artists as they
present a fine concert of traditional and contemporary music.
Music at the Meeting House: "Eight Hands and a Piano" Sunday, April 15, 2007 2:30 PM A piano recital featuring four young classical pianists from Rhode Island College, with
selections from Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt, and others. Each will play two selections alone, and then two will simultaneously play a 4-hand selection! Please come
and encourage these young artists as they pursue their chosen careers in music.
Music at the Meeting House: A Magnificent Holiday Celebration Sunday, December 3, 2006 2:30 pm First United Methodist Church of Warren/Bristol Choir, The Ocean Bones Trombone
Ensemble, and The Belles -Ensemble Ringing with Traditional English Handbells. A free will offering will be received. Refreshments & fellowship to follow in the church vestry. Open to the public.

100th Anniversary Celebration of Old Home Day August 26, 2006 11:00 am - 2:00 pm "Old Home day" was first celebrated in Chepachet during the fall of 1906 with a clam bake
and a day of celebration and fun. Through the years it became a time for folks to return to Chepachet and renew friendships. Our 2006 program began with a lunch consisting of clam
chowder, clamcakes, brown bread, watermelon, lemonade and other fixings. We also had contests of skill for all ages and a musical program, including a sing-along, featuring old-time songs to recall good times from the past.
